Blueberry Lemonade ~ Sister blogs for me :)

My sister Nags, of Edible Garden, needs no introduction. Seeing no regular updations in my space lately, sis offered to do a guest post for me during one of our chats past week. Since I don't have much  fruit drinks to my credit, I wanted her to do one for me. She found just enough time to buy the fresh berries and do this post for me, inspite of her much busy weekend. She was a little worried about the poor lighting in her photography though I felt perfect and squealed in delight!
I honestly love shadowy/dull lighting than brightness for photo shoots these days.

Tight hugs and over to you, sis... :)

When I went on that guest blogging spree (err... 2 guests posts. That counts as a spree, right? No?) past couple months, I'd promised one to my sister too. She has been really caught up with being a mother, a wife, a classmate, a friend, a daughter and much more and since I am only some of these things, not all, I thought I should share a recipe on her blog to make sure the sidebars don't catch cobwebs in the meantime.

I realised recently that I don't cook by seasons. Probably because in Singapore, there's no such concept of seasonal fruits and vegetables. Pretty much everything is available year round and the weather is quite standard through the year too. This means we don't necessarily consumer more juices during the summer months or more soups during the winter months.

So when my sis asked me to do a guest post with a healthy summer cooler drink, I had to seriously give it some thought. TH and I love lemonade and I always try to make it more interesting by making it an orange lemon juice or adding some mint to lemonade, you get the idea. I also LOVE this mango milkshake with avocado but anyway, this blueberry lemonade is one such drink I'd been meaning to try for a while and it finally happened, thanks to my sister!

Blueberry Lemonade
Makes 2 glasses

1 cup blueberries
2 tsp sugar (adjust to taste)
1 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
Ice cubes

Reserve a few blueberries for garnish and blend the rest with the sugar and 2 tbsp water until smooth.
Pass this through a sieve to extract the juice.
Add the lemon juice to this and top up with about 2 glasses of water.
Taste as you go and add more sugar / lemon as per your paste. A pinch of salt would go well too.
Top off with ice cubes and serve chilled.
