Adding Some Life to Your Photograph - Exercises in Food Photography #5 by Aparna

I haven't tried shots of food someone holding for me, though I had been coming across lovely pictures of the same much around in blogosphere. Aparna's Photography lesson 5 finally inspired me to try the lovely theme of Adding some life to my Photograph!

My daughter was home for a couple of days for Ganesh Chathurthi when I thought of making her pose for the shots. We could have done it better but before I imported the pictures from the camera, she got back to her hostel.

Here are a few we managed to do...

Focal Length	135 mm
ISO Speed	2000

Day-2

We planned to take a few shots with Ammini Kozhukattais made for Vinayaka Chathurthi.
The red colour of the dress she wore on the day was overpowering and I was forced to change the image to B & W to make it more pleasant.

Focal Length	135 mm
ISO Speed	1250

Aperture	f/5.6
Focal Length	135 mm
ISO Speed	500

ISO Speed	2500

As you might have noticed, the aperture and focal length was set the same for all the shots.
I altered only the ISO and the shutter speeds. Dared to venture more in manual mode as she was impatient and naughty :)
The lens used was also the same; fully zoomed to the maximum of 135mm in all.
Lens Type - Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS
Tripod was not used, as always :)

It was challenging!
The little hands would go drooping on one side, fall out of frame/composition or shivered and shook or was restless or at least complained of aches for holding still :)

But the whole episode was pure fun!
